Mr. Masao Yoshida has not had a good year.  Mr. Yoshida, a nuclear engineer, was the general manager of the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi plant when the earthquake and tsunami hit on Mar11.2011.  He was in the thick of it and later said that on more than one occasion he thought he was going to die.  Then in November 2011 he suddenly stepped down as manager when he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.  Now he is in serious condition with yet another malady: brain hemorrhage.  Is this guy just really unlucky or is there a connection here?  Well, cerebral bleeding is known to occur after radiotherapy of cancers of the head and neck.  The radiation can cause blood vessels to die.  So coincidence may not be the most reasonable explanation for Mr. Yoshida’s problems.

Boomerang in the making. While the Democratic foaming at the mouth about Romney not releasing tax returns looks good in July, by November the tactic will circle back and blow up in their faces.  Why?  B/c we have a US pimp-president who ran on a platform of transparency and ending egregious secrecy practices of the past administration, and yet that same pimp-president resolutely refuses to give Congress any information about his own secret program to kill US citizens without any trial or charges.  Remember all of the secret Yoo memos and other memos scurrying around in the Bush White House like cockroaches looking for a place to hide?  Well, not a freaking thing has changed.  As some ACLU lapels have said, there is a basic lack of due process in an institutionalized system for executing US citizens when those citizens are not even told what behavior will get them killed. So, which is worse, keeping secrets about your taxes or keeping secrets about your hit list, your license to kill, and why you choose to murder whom you choose to murder?

Olympia Food Coop ruling on sanctions.  For those of you following the Israeli disaster in Olympia, WA where a gaggle of Israel-funded Zionists got their asses kicked by Washington’s anti-SLAPP suit, here is a transcript of Judge McPhee’s decision to grant $160,000 fine against the Zionists.  Previous posts on this case are here, and here, and here.

Executing US generals?  Lt. Gen Wm Caldwell — call him “Bill,” Obama does — was one of those media-darling generals that stick their noses up politicians rear ends and that politicians reciprocate in kind. Caldwell now runs the US Army North Command in Afghanistan.  Caldwell it turns out may be less than a darling and more of a ghoul.   In 2010 he was in charge of Dawood Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan where, according to one US Army officer testifying before Congress last week, there were open vats of blood draining out of patients’ wounds, feces on the floor, and patients starving.  When medical officers demanded an investigation, Caldwell cut them off and threatened them, according to their testimony.  Probably because Caldwell was dealing with medical officers, his cover-up leaked like a sieve. When the WSJ broke the story last September, they referred to it as “deadly neglect.”  Now BuzzFeed has followed up in one article and published horrible, gruesome photos of conditions in Dawood in another article. “Deadly neglect” hardly does the situation justice.  Whoever is responsible, whether “Bill” or any other general, ought to face a court martial and, if found guilty of this neglect, a firing squad.

Happy 10th anniversary, Omar.  Omar Khadr, who was 15 when he was captured by US forces in Afghanistan a decade ago, is still in Gitmo.  When he was captured, the kid, who is a Canadian citizen, was in Afghanistan, having been taken there by his father, defending it against invading US soldiers.  As Khadr’s defense attorney pointed out, he was a target of the US attack, but the US claims he had no right to defend himself or fight back.  The US says that in the war on terror the rules of war don’t apply.  Only the US ad hoc rules apply.  Of course, the problem is that having been detained for so many years, interrogated, tortured, abused — if he is ever set free, Khadr is a danger to the US.  I would be.  Although the military tribunal sentenced him to 8 years in return for his guilty plea, this kid will likely never walk free.

Loser Olympics?  Here is a pic from a story in the Israeli rag Haaretz about a “nice Jewish girl” from Massachusetts in the Olympics.  Notice anything about the crowd?  Yeah, all soldiers.

Here is a story from the UK Guardian about what a bust the Olympics is b/c they can’t even fill seats without bringing in the troopers.  You’d think they’d at least have the brains to put these guys in civilian clothes to disguise the fact that London 2012 is turning out to be a bust.

Bloged in America, Potpourri, Constitution DoA by Gutter Grunt Friday July 27, 2012 at about 12:45 pm

Another reason the US Constitution is a suicide pact.  In this al Jazeera analysis, the US comes out as the world’s gun capitol.  No surprise there.  On a per capita basis it has 1.6 times more gun owners than the next closest — Yemen.  But the analysis is flawed b/c gun ownership laws are state laws.  The analysis ought not be averaged out over the entire country; it ought to treat each US state as its own country for international comparisons.  In which case, a dozen states would easily be the world’s gun capitols.  Which states?  Here’s  your typical red-blue 2012 presidential election map. And below that is al-Jazeera’s interactive map showing rates of gun deaths in the US.  The darkest orange means the highest per capita rate of death-by-guns.  See any coincidences?  Me, too, which is why I’m writing this.  The good news is that it’s the right wing-nuts who are killing each other.  Mostly.

Hunker down east coast, it’s gonna’ be a nasty one.   I don’t normally do weather forecasts on the Daily Dish; the Zionists keep me plenty busy forecasting the end of the world as it is.  But the storm stretching from OK to NH yesterday that was supposed to be a whopper on the Right Coast has pooped out.  But that’s not the one to worry about.  It’s the one now moving east over Colorado — 10am Jul27 PDT.  There is so much energy in the system from months of scorching weather and blistering ad hominem political attacks that this one is sure to let rip when that low hits the coastal high.  Keep safe East Coast right wing-nuts, left wing-nuts, Republicans, Democrats, and all you gun-toting red-necks wherever you are.

Is the word “nigger” ever appropriate?  The level of personal brutality of some South African blacks, and some African blacks in general, is unprecedented in my experience.  Sure, white, techno-nations commit their share of “impersonal brutality” with drones and cruise missiles, but from the gruesome “necklacing” and butchery of the Soweto days, to the Rwanda genocides, to the mass massacres by dictators like Idi Amin and the Revolutionary United Front backed by Charles Taylor, I cannot recall any other face-to-face brutality in modern history that match those perpetrated by African blacks, mostly against each other.  Now from Walkerville, S.A. we get this story of blacks murdering a white family — raping the woman, shooting her and her husband, and drowning their gagged and bound son in scalding water.  And it just makes you wonder.  This photo from Beeld newspaper shows Sipho Mbele (left) and Patrick Peter Radebe (right), who pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and one each of rape.  They were laughing on the way out of the courtroom.  Radebe’s smirk is evident even while he’s standing in the dock.

Aurora.  Guns don’t kill people.  Bullets kill people.  Let the 2nd Amendment wackos have all the automatic weapons they want.  Ban bullets.  The 2nd Amendment protects the right to bear arms.  It doesn’t specify loaded arms.

Bulgaria.  In it’s PR counter attack against Israel over the Bulgaria bus bombing, Iran’s UN Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee argued in a UN Security Council debate on the Middle East on Wednesday that Israel carried out the bombing.  Khazaee further alleged that he could provide many examples showing that Israel “killed its own citizens and innocent Jewish people during the last couple of decades in order to blame others.”  I cannot remember an incident where Israel has been accused of a red-flag operation in which it has killed Jews or Israelis, other than Arab Israelis.  If any readers can provide any examples, please leave comments.

London  In this first report today from the Daily Mail, is any indication, the London Olympics are headed for trouble.  When the N. Korean women’s soccer team was announced prior to their game vs. Columbia, the idiot organizers put up on the jumbotron each player’s picture, NEXT TO THE FLAG OF S. KOREA.  N. Korea walked off the field.  There is no possible way to plumb the depths of British imbecility.  They are not competent to run an Olympics.

Europe  In this second report from the DM, there is an interesting graphic showing how the EU countries are slipping back into recession — all but Germany, whose GDP is 4% higher than 2008 and growing.  Why is it that Germany is doing so well?  I’ll tell you: It’s their defense contracts with Israel.  For instance, supplying Israel with Dolphin-class, nuclear capable submarines, as reported by the Daily Dish in June.  Where does Israel get the shekels to buy this costly gear?  From the US taxpayer, of course.  How is the US economy doing?  About like the EU’s, not quite as bad.  Maybe the $3Bn the US hands out to Israel each year could be better spent in the US.

Word-for-word plagiarism by MSM

Bloged in America, Courts by Gutter Grunt Sunday July 22, 2012 at about 1:38 am

The AP and Daily Mail are reporting a story out of Kentucky about a 17 year-old woman who was raped but has been threatened with jail for tweeting the name of her attackers.  The story itself is pretty disgusting, but not unexpected from America’s wacko family and juvenile courts.

But the story for the present post is that the AP story does not credit the DM story, and the DM story does not credit the AP story, yet they are virtually identical.  We call that plagiarism where I come from.  Here are the two stories, side-by-side.  Note how even the line about the AP/Daily Mail does not report the names of victims is identical. OFC awarded $160K in damages as Captain Israel bites the venomous BDS weenie

Captain Israel cold-cocked by the courts

As predicted by the Gutter Grunt in Dec.2011 and again in Feb.2012, the group of moaning mal-semites who tried to use a SLAPP suit to punish Americans’ free speech in Washington State has been cold-cocked by the courts.

The case started in December when 16 present/former board members of the Olympia Food Co-op were sued by the toxic fivesome of Kent Davis, Linda Davis, Susan Trinin, Jeffery Trinin, and Susan Mayer – whom I refer to as the DDT-5.

The DDT-5 were upset because the OFC passed a resolution backing the boycott part of BDS anti-Israel apartheid tactics.  Rather than leave the co-op, the DDT-5 tried to cut off the BDS movement within the OFC.  First the DDT-5 tried unsuccessfully to take control of the OFC board.  They got voted down.  Then the DDT-5’s nano-brained lawyers resorted to lawyer scare-tactics, but that didn’t work either.  Finally they filed the phony lawsuit.  Phony suits like this that try to cut off other people’s free speech are called SLAPP suits. Fukushima EQ graphics For you Fuku-heads there are some great animated graphics out there showing what happened on 3/11. It’s hard to get a feel for size and timing of the Great Eastern Earthquake by looking at tables of Richter data, but some smart graphics people can take those data and turn them into an animation that will make you blood pressure spike. Here’s one that shows the Japan EQ sequence.  And here’s the same style showing EQ’s worldwide. Headphones not required but useful.  This site by Paul Nicholls is even more amazing, and waay more useful.  You can filter the data for date or EQ size.  And you can do a quick check for today’s EQ’s, which is vital for us on the Left Coast who are already packed and waiting for more disaster from the Fukushima.  I’m not sure what EQ Forecaster is all about, but it has some very interesting EQ-related vids.
Israel refuses to cooperate with UN Human Rights Council    It is no surprise to a single person on this earth that Israel is blocking the UN Human Rights Council from investigating human rights violations in the West Bank.  Bibi won’t even let the UN investigators enter Israel.  Sound familiar?  Idi Amin?  Pol Pot?  Milosevic?  The surest sign of on-going human rights violations is when the accused country insists that the lights be kept off.
Israeli spies, please stand up and be counted.   The only good spy is a dead spy.  Unfortunately, Israeli spy Jonathon Pollard dodged the death sentence.  But he got spanked a lot harder than most of the Israelis spying on America.  It is undying testimony to the effectiveness of the Jewish media and the stupidity of the American public that Americans have bought the “Israel is our friend” bullshit for all these decades.  Israel is a friend to only one country in the entire world: Israel.  This little outburst has been inspired by yet more news of Israeli spying, this time implicating Arnon Milchan, a big-time Israeli Hollywood producer — “Pretty Woman”, etc.  According to Israeli press reports,  released FBI documents show that Bibi Netanyahu was involved in stealing nuke bomb triggers from the US through one of Milchan’s operations.  This was part of the theft for which another Israeli spy, Richard Kelly Smith, was convicted and sent to prison.

Time for you to bite the bullet on 9-11   You’re just gonna’ have to come out of your psychological bunker and look at some evidence that the world is not what you think it is.   Here is the most amateurish, wonkish, poorly-produced — but most disturbing — video you will ever see.  It came out in late 2011 and is produced by a group of nerdy engineers and architects who have formed an organization called AE911truth.org.  However poorly it is directed and produced, it is fairly well organized and it gives more than enough hard data and scientific opinion (over and over and over again) to raise a very credible question as to whether the 3 buildings at WTC were brought down by explosives.  I mean a very credible.  Along the way these engineers/architects shred the National Institute of Standards and Technology, a US government agency charged with doing the technical/engineering report on the cause of the WTC collapse.  Here are the original 2005 NIST report and the 2008 Final NIST report which constitute a fraud, according to AETruth911.  Well, if AE911Truth’s allegations are correct, that can only mean that the report’s lead guy, S. Shyam Sunder, is a fraudster.  This thing is picking up steam.  Better get on board sooner rather than later or you’ll be left behind.

X1.1 flare lights up the sun.  Class X is as big as they get.  This one popped off at about 7 pm EDT today.  Solar Ham is reporting a minor magnetic storm is now picking up.  No coronal mass ejection seen yet and the flare is not pointed directly at Earth, but you might want to keep in touch with NASA or Solar Ham over the next couple of days.

Will Katie Holmes take down creepy Scientology?  The creepiest religious group in the world just got a most unlikely legal enemy.  No, not Eric Holder and the Justice Dept., he’s actually joining Scientology hoping they can get the Republicans off his ass.  I’m talkin’ Katie Holmes.  After seeing what Tom Cruise did with Nicole Kidman’s kids, there is no way Holmes is going to let that lunatic, couch-bouncing, creep suck their 6 year-old daughter, Suri, into the Scientology brain-washing machine.  Holmes has filed for total custody of Suri.  A fight for total custody in this case — as any case — will be huge, which means there will be very, very serious discovery by Holme’s lawyers of Cruise and Scientology.  There would almost have to be allegations of child abuse.  The discovery process alone has the potential of busting Scientology wide open.  My guess is that Cruise will punt this one and not put up a fight.  Scientology being back in the headlines is surely raising the daily hit total on Marty Rathburn’s blog.  He is another Scientology creep — really creepy.  He used to run the “Special Operations” section at Scientology — the dirty tricks department.  Now he has “reformed” and is a crusader against Scientology.  He has already released what he purports to be an Email from a Scientology honcho instructing people how to shut down adverse comments on the Web.    In my opinion, they’re basically a bunch of sickos, all of them, past, present, and future.  Good to see Katie and Suri getting the hell out of there.

Maternal blood gives up fetal DNA for sequencing and gender determination.  Knowing next to nothing about maternal-fetal interactions since my last one was almost 64 years ago, it was a surprise to me last month to read that fetal cells can be isolated from maternal lungs in lab mice.  The significance of this finding to understanding immunological interactions between mother and fetus is enormous, including possible clues as to preeclampsia.  In January of this year S.Korea workers found that fetal DNA in maternal blood can be used to determine fetal gender.  [The entire paper is not available and the summary linked to appears to be bungled.  It says the enzymes were being measured, but it looks like they were actually looking at the genes for the enzymes.]  Now there is a report from Stanford of doing a complete fetal genome sequence from DNA obtained from the mother.  Since amniocentesis can’t be done in the 1st trimester and carries a moderate risk to mother and fetus, this is a huge step forward to screening 1st trimester fetuses for birth defects.  Prediction: in the life-time of today’s 30 year-olds, complete genome sequencing of 1st term fetuses will be common place world-wide, and mandatory in some countries.  Also: within this window we will see the eradication of the first human genetic birth defect or inborn error of metabolism.

Special Report: Fukishima Daiich update — Jul04.2012

Bloged in Nuclear threats by Gutter Grunt Wednesday July 4, 2012 at about 10:52 pm

Even though there are at least two web cams constantly trained on Fukishima Daiichi reactors 24/7 it is amazingly difficult to see or get news about what’ going on. But some of what you can see is pretty weird.

Fukishima cameras.

The TEPCO webcam is right on the site and it gives the most reliable and clearest view.  It goes down infrequently, so when it does, it’s time for your ears to prick up and time to start surfing for info.  The problem with the TEPCO cam is you can only really see Reactors #1 & #2.  If Reactor #4 lights up, you’ll likely see that happen, but you can’t see what TEPCO is doing around Reactor #4.

The second webcam is the TBS webcam.   This one is trained on the Reactor #4 end of the complex, but the camera is quite a distance away and up on some mountain, so it is socked in most of the time, and even on clear days, heat waves distort the image badly.  The best part of the TBS cam is that someone has a YouTube site where they put up a camera checker to archive the footage constantly.  The vids are sped up to give you an hour in 3 minutes.  The best part is you can use your mouse to speed through the tapes even faster. This is brilliant and whoever has put this up deserves a round of applause.  As long as the clouds are not obscuring the reactors, everything that happens can be seen.  This is where it starts getting weird.

Fukishima Reactor #4 demolition?

Don’t think so.  On Jun28.2012 BeePeeOil posted this vid from the TBS camera.  They claim it is showing the demolition of Reactor #4.  Well, it’s the demolition of SOMETHING, but it can’t be the reactor.  There is no date on this vid, so I can’t confirm when it was made.  Might have been years ago. That reactor building is all that is holding up the spent fuel pool and they can’t even start emptying the spent fuel rods until 2013, so they would hardly be tearing down the reactor.  I have not seen any commentary on what is going on here but it is surprisingly major work not to have the Fukishima blogs lighting up.  But speak of lighting up. . .

Troubling vid of Reactor #4

There is this troubling vid from the TBS camera checker, dated Jun29.2012 at about 6:30 pm, presumably Tokyo time. It’s a typical low-quality vid from the TBS cam, but at 1:49 you can barely discern the beginning of what grows into two large glowing balls at the bottom of the center crane.  They get bigger and brighter.  Eventually, you can see a plume of smoke, and then at 2:40 there is a definite explosion.  Someone on a Fukishima talk thread pointed this vid out, but that is the only mention I have seen of this event.  It looks major.   Note that the time of this vid was just about the time the cooling system on the Reactor #4 SFP went out last weekend.

Second troubling vid at Reactor #4

BeePeeOil caught this huge flare up in the vicinity of Reactor #4 seen on the TEPCO camera on Jul02.  By taking the date and time from the upper edge of the TEPCO vid, you can find the vid of the the same time on the TBS camera checker.  The clouds are too thick to see the burning ball, but you can definitely see the explosion at 1:12.  About 6 hours later, at 1am on Jul03, the clouds have lifted enough that you can see the area from the TBS camera. There doesn’t appear to be any damage, although its hard to say what’s passing cloud and what’s smoke.  At the end of this vid is about a clear a night shot you’ll see from the TBS camera.

The problem is this: by now we all know the Japanese gov’t and TEPCO are a pack of liars.  They have been, and still are, withholding a lot of information.  When they don’t address anomalies like these, or the public’s concerns, then you have to ask why they are holding back.  There is a reason.  This stuff is happening; no one is talking about it.

The Swiss are worried, too.

There is a Swiss industrial think-tank called Holophi.  They put out a report on Fukishima #4 SFP in April, but it is just gaining traction.  They go into a number of possible scenarios and the global consequences.  The point is clear: international agencies had better stop screwing around with this thing and get in there and help the Japanese get control of this mess before the next big quake takes us all into never-never land — meaning it’ll never be the same if those SFP’s go.

Petri dish art by Klari Reis [This one smiles!  See her site. She has 365 of these things!]

Your cat and suicide.  A group of shrinks have just released a long term study showing a relationship between suicide and infection with a nasty microbe called T.gondii.  T. gondii is an obligate parasite of cats, that is, it only reproduces in cats.  But it lives in virtually any mammal, including humans, where it forms cysts in liver, muscle, and brain tissue.  The primary way it gets into humans is from cats secreting microscopic T. gondii eggs with their feces, suggesting a causal effect between cat litter and human suicide.  The T. gondii story is getting big, and scary.  Depending on the country, up to 60% of people are infected.  But with respect to people who are involved in car accidents, the infection rate is waaay higher.  T. gondii makes lab mice do absolutely weird, suicidal things, like attack cats and become attracted to cat urine.  This makes sense, because the T. gondii benefits from cats eating the infected mice — the T. gondii have to get back into cats to reproduce.  Whatever mechanism is causing the mice to act weird, is likely making people act weird, too.  Cats don’t eat people, but T. gondii don’t know that.  If you were to ask me, I’d look around at all the weirdness in this world and conclude that something must be infecting a whole bunch of humans and changing their behavior.  How would we know.  I mean if a huge enough portion of the population is infected with a mind-warping microbe, the weird behavior would just look normal on a statistical basis.

Graves to piss on.  Like most of Israel’s prime ministers, Yitzhak Shamir was a small-minded, ugly, brutish terrorist.  His was the face of violent Zionism — and still is.  His death last week was unfortunate only because it didn’t happen 70 years ago while he was a member of the Jewish terrorist groups Irgun and Lehi.  I once had a friend who served in the British Army in the occupation of Palestine after WWII.  He told horror stories of the atrocities committed by Jews like Shamir, killing British soldiers and Arabs indiscriminately with bombs, and knives, and bullets.  I often thought: Now, there’s a guy with a valid reason to hate Jews.  And he did, too.  If someone had done to Shamir in 1945 what the US did to bin Laden in 2011, perhaps there wouldn’t have been a bin Laden or a Taliban or Israeli apartheid in 2011.  The world would be better off; Americans would be better off;  Palestine and Palestinians would certainly be better off. News of Shamir’s death has brought out more detail about how nasty this bastard was.  I did not know, for instance, that he was responsible for the 1948 murder of the UN mediator of the Israel/Palestine war, Folke Bernadotte.  Count Bernadotte had made the fatal mistake of offering a solution to the conflict that was not acceptable to Shamir and his band of butchering Jews.  Bernadotte would not be the only peace-loving person murdered by the Zionists for offering a solution to the conflict.  So it’s not surprising that, judging from the post over at Mondoweiss, the obits for Shimon from around the world are hardly complimentary.  This is a case of “We have come not to praise Caesar, but to bury him and piss on his grave.”
